Donald Henry Acciaioli of Lincoln, RI passed away on February 1, 2025 at the age of 70 due to ongoing health issues. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Joanne (McCarthy) Acciaioli. They met at the local Stop & Shop on Cape Cod dated for 3 months fell in love and married in 1987.

Don was admitted to the Army in 1973 and served a 4 year tour. His mother Rose had to sign him in because he was only 17 years old at the time. He was honorably discharged and took a year to complete his schooling. One year later Don decided that military life was the life he wanted and entered the United States Coast Guard for 20 years a lot of which was spent in Germany and Spain. Upon an honorable discharge achieving the rank of MK1 from USCG MSO Providence, RI he received many commendations including the Coast Guard Achievement Medal with Gold Star.

Don was the ultimate handyman a trait that was greatly appreciated by his wife and he loved to help family, friends and neighbors with their projects. Everyone appreciated his expertise and willingness to achieve perfection. Don was an animal lover and at one point he and his wife had 6 cats to care for.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him well and was loved by many. A Mass of Christain Burial for family and friends to attend will be held at the St. Jude’s Church in Lincoln, RI on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 10am. He will be interred on May 24, 2025, on his wedding anniversary, with Military Honors at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
